Adolfo Díaz-Ambrona

Secretary General of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce and of the Spanish Court of Arbitration since January 2016.

He holds degrees in Law and Business Administration from Universidad Pontificia Comillas ICADE (E-3) and is a member of the Spanish State Attorneys Corps (Abogacía del Estado).

He serves as a director of MAPFRE Internacional, a director of the AZVI Group, and as Secretary and Board Director of the Board of Directors of Camerfirma – Tinexta Group. He is also Secretary and Board Director of Camerdata, and a director of Camerfirma Colombia.

He is also a member of the World Council of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and of the General Council of the World Chambers Federation (WCF), Secretary of the Ibero-African Association of Chambers of Commerce (AFRICO), and Secretary for the Iberian Peninsula of the Ibero-American Association of Chambers of Commerce (AICO).

He is Secretary of the Board of Trustees of the Fundación Instituto Cameral para la Creación y Desarrollo de la Empresa (INCYDE), Secretary of the Board of Trustees of Fundación Conexión España, and a trustee of the Fundación Universidad Empresa (FUE).

He is a corresponding member of the Royal Academy of Jurisprudence and Legislation of Spain.

He is a member of Aranzadi-La Ley’s Advisory Council.

He is a member of the Advisory Council of the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD).

From January 2012 to December 2015, he served as Secretary-General for Technical Services at the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and the Environment.

Previously, he worked as a State Attorney as Head of the Legal Service of the Spanish Tax Agency (AEAT) in Extremadura and as Deputy Head State Attorney of the AEAT Legal Service in Madrid, as well as a State Attorney in the Criminal Department of the State Attorney General’s Office – Directorate-General of the State Legal Service.

Other positions:

  • Member of the Advisory Board for Insurance and Pension Funds from June 2016 to April 2025.

  • Director of the Official Credit Institute (ICO) from March 2012 to December 2015.

  • Member of the Plenary of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce from November 2014 to December 2015.

  • President of the National Farm Accounting Network; President of the Editorial Board of the Spanish Journal of Agri-social and Fisheries Studies; and President of the Advisory Board of Ambienta magazine.

  • Trustee of the Patrimonio Comunal Olivarero Foundation.

  • Member of the Plenary of the General Commission for Codification and member of its Commercial Law Section.

  • Member and Secretary of the Governing Board of the State Attorneys Association.

  • Compliance Department of Santander Private Banking International Division in Geneva (Switzerland).

  • Practicum lecturer at Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICADE), Madrid.

  • He also regularly participates as a speaker at forums and conferences on trade, investment, arbitration, mediation, and agricultural, fisheries and environmental legislation.

He received the 2018 Young Executive with Talent Award in the Legal Management category, granted by Seeliger y Conde.
